Continue to Sefa Utaki, one of the most sacred sites of the former Ryukyu Kingdom. Among immense rocks, subtropical forest and shifting light, discover the ancient nature-based beliefs of the Ryukyus and the spiritual significance of the utaki — sacred spaces that have been revered for generations.
In the afternoon, venture into Gyokusendo Cave to explore a spectacular underground world of stalactites and stalagmites shaped over countless years. Continue through Okinawa World, where traditional architecture, crafts and cultural displays offer a glimpse into the island life of another era.

Traditional Dress, Historic Shuri & Coral Dyeing
Dress in the rich colours and elegant forms of traditional Ryukyuan attire and step into Shuri, once the political and cultural heart of the Ryukyu Kingdom. Surrounded by echoes of the royal era, capture a memorable portrait of your own journey through Okinawan history.
Explore the historic surroundings of Shuri Castle before strolling along the peaceful Kinjo-cho Stone-Paved Road. Old stone walls, mature trees and traditional homes recreate the atmosphere of the former castle town, offering a quiet sense of stepping into another chapter of island time.
In the afternoon, visit Shuri Ryusen and experience Okinawa’s distinctive coral-dyeing craft. Using the natural textures of coral to create patterns and colour, make your own one-of-a-kind textile — transforming a memory of Okinawa’s ocean into a handcrafted piece to take home.
In the evening, savour Ishigaki beef, prized for its tenderness and delicate marbling. The flavours of Okinawan wagyu bring a fitting close to a day immersed in royal heritage and traditional craftsmanship.
DAY 4 | The Art of Yachimun
Ancient Castle & the Sound of Sanshin
Journey to Yomitan, a Centre of Okinawan pottery, and step inside a local workshop to discover the tradition of Yachimun. Guided by an artisan, shape the clay with your own hands and create a piece of Okinawan pottery that is uniquely yours.
Beginning with a simple piece of earth in your palms, slowly give it form and discover the texture, warmth and individuality of something made by hand. Through an everyday object, experience the beauty of Okinawan craftsmanship and its deep connection with daily life.
Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Zakimi Castle Ruins. Walk along the graceful curves of its Ryukyu limestone walls and take in sweeping views across Yomitan and towards the East China Sea. Among ancient stone, open sky and sea breezes, experience the quiet presence of centuries of history.
In the afternoon, enter the musical world of the sanshin, Okinawa’s most iconic traditional instrument. Guided by a local instructor, discover its history, construction and distinctive sound before learning simple techniques and melodies for yourself. As your fingers begin to pluck the strings, experience the music that has echoed through Ryukyuan island life for generations.
From clay shaped by hand to melodies created at your fingertips, this day explores Okinawan culture through craft and music. Between ancient castle walls and the gentle sound of the sanshin, discover one of the most intimate and enduring sides of Ryukyuan life.
